2013 is not even coming to a close just yet but 2014 might have something in store for all the Android aficionados out there!
Google is rumored to launch its own set-top box in the first half of 2014. Branded as Nexus, this new Google device is expected to get over the slump next year by upgrading its features apart from current Google TV platform and Android-powered dongles packed with Google services.
The newly-improved Nexus TV will offer users different gaming and entertainment features literally at the touch of their fingertips. By just using a touch screen controller, users will be able to enjoy a round or two of playing Android game apps. Not interested with gaming in general? Don’t worry – the Nexus TV got your back with its Internet video streaming service which can be controlled by a phone or a tablet.
However, Google’s set-top box is just another big wig entering the fierce and cutthroat industry of gaming consoles and Internet TV. With the likes of Apple TV, Sony, Ouya, and Nintendo already around for quite some time, how will it stand out in the market? Will the relaunch be enough to join the ranks of its sister product lines like Android tablets andphones? Such questions might be answered in January next year at the Consumer Electronics Show where the Nexus TV is going to have an announcement.
