Turn Your iPhone 5S Into A BlackBerry With Ryan Seacrest’s TYPO

Among the latest iPhone models, the original iPhone 5 and the 5s are getting a Typo Keyboard from a third-party provider, Ryan Seacrest. He is, of course, the host of American Idol. But the start-up has nothing to do with the show or the business of entertainment, instead it’s a business partnership that is intended to provide a physical keyboard to the iPhone 5 models with the exception of iPhone 5c.
He plans to introduce the Typo Keyboard during the CES 2014 in Las Vegas. The initial investment is reported to be $1 million but this could go up to $5 million with more keyboard concepts coming up. Retrofitting a keyboard to an iPhones makes its appearance similar to the BlackBerry with its protruding keyboard in front but differences are highly noticeable. The keyboard looks much of a protective case where the iPhone is inserted underneath. And the case if complete in itself with its sculpted keys and backlit along with a substitute key for the iPhone’s built-in home button. See it in action.
The other features and benefits of the typo case are: less typo and faster typing, more screen space due to hiding of the on-screen keyboard, a battery indicator and faster access to currency keys for that all-important conversion request. The price tag of this accessory is set at $99.
