Motorola was brought to an embarrassing moment when Cyber Monday struck and customers were not able to get their Moto X as shown and pre-ordered on the company’s website. It was a nice both though as the company tries to redeem itself by offering a repeat of the sale by Wednesday and additional sale day on Monday, December 9.
The company was quick to apologize offering the “we’re sorry” words to thousands of frustrated and disappointed customers. The botched sale was a result of not-so-sufficient pre-sale testing and the overwhelming demand for the latest Moto which the company misjudged in terms of pre-orders. The unexpected surge in demand had caused the system to crash and failure of the MotoMaker customization engine rendering the website unusable.
The company is currently working on an emergency fix in time for the second round of the sale so as to appease angry customers who had already spend at day just to grab that once-a-year bargain price of Moto X. Customers were advised to keep in touch with company through its social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter and G+). The promotional price for the Moto X has been set at $349 while accessories will have a 30% off during the two sale days scheduled by the company.
