Samsung Galaxy S5 To Launch Next Quarter, Rumored As ‘Galaxy J

Mysterious cannot even begin to describe the Dec. 6 teaser video posted by Samsung Taiwan on Youtube.
Only the words “Just fit. Just simple. Just elegant. Just fast. Just for you.” were shown in the 22-second video, together with the image of the sleek metallic smartphone that assaults eyeballs. The phone is speculated to be the new Galaxy S5.
Although the teaser says “coming soon,” a Galaxy Gear with the date Dec. 9 is also shown in the video, leading us to believe that the new phone might be revealed together with the smartwatch.
Rumors have been going around that the S5 has been finalized in September. Word has it that the video might be signalling an early S5 reveal, although it was originally estimated to be released in February 2014. With the presence of the Galaxy Gear in the teaser, it might also be safe to speculate that the new phone is also compatible with the watch.
What makes the teaser more puzzling is the inscription of the phone in the video which says SC-02F. It is known to be the model number for the 5-inch Samsung Galaxy J, a smartphone which is currently exclusive to Japan. Using “just” before each feature also gives us a hint that it could probably be the Galaxy J. Could this be a sign that Samsung is ready to offer Galaxy J to the global market?
What seems to be the Galaxy J is rumored to boast a 64-bit Samsung Exynos 5430 processor, equipped with a 16-megapixel camera. It is also likely to be a part of Samsung’s waterproof and dust-proof smartphone line, which would enable users to capture every waking moment, including underwater shots.
The Japanese variation of the Galaxy J has a 5-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, a 2.26GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset and 3GB of RAM. It also has a 13.2 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization.
Seeing the LTE logo in the teaser video assures potential buyers that the smartphone will have a fast connection. The diamond rolling on the sleek metallic layer also denotes class, giving us the perception that the product will most-likely be high-end.
