It is another shining moment for Asus at Computex as it introduced the new dockable tablet calledTransformer Book Trio which works similarly toTransformer AiO in terms of switching OS, andTransformer Book as to features. But this one has a number of good updates when compared to theTransformer Book such as a 1080p screen that measures 11.6-inch and the dual OS thing since it can run Android and Windows.
Switching OS is done through a hotkey and in a docked state, meaning the keyboard dock has the tablet latched into it. If the tablet is undocked, only the Android OS (Jelly Bean) will run. In terms of specs, the tablet obviously contains two processors for each OS, Windows 8 being run through Core i7-4th gen, and the Android Jelly Bean being run by Intel Atom Z2580 at 2Ghz. It has two batteries also – a 19Wh and a 33Wh, and there’s an HDD storage with a capacity of 1Tb and another flash storage inside at 64Gb capacity.
The Asus Transformer Book Trio retains the metallic finish look and common functionalities other than the switchingmode via a key press. Unfortunately, there is no showing how Android behaves in this multi-OS environment. Lastly, the Computex announcement is short of the price though due to the launching date yet scheduled in the 3rd Quarter.
