Say The “F” Word Excessively And Xbox One Will Mute Your Voice

First it was thought to be an inappropriate behaviour such as swearing in Skype calls but Microsoft is quick to put that rumor in the side-line by clarifying that only uploaded video contents with “excessive profanity” deserve to be stripped of some account privileges on Xbox Live including the use of Skype.
It’s not yet known if account suspensions is something new from Microsoft but for its latest next-gen video gaming console Xbox One, this is indeed something new. During the last 24 hours, the ban was made more pronounced afteraffecting several users. Microsoft issued a statement expressing its commitment not to monitor live peer-to-peer communication such as that of Skype and requesting everyone to adhere to its Code of Conduct with regards to uploading videos with excessive profanity which, if violated, could result to account suspension or denial of Xbox Live privileges.
Users’ reactions were mixed with some pointing to a possible of the right to free speech while others supporting thesuspension as a disciplinary measure in promoting a safe and enjoyable experience with the Xbox Live platform. Others are also bewildered by the fact that Xbox One’s games are sometimes the instigators when it comes to characters’ languages especially those that are Rated M and that censorship should only be confined to these types of games.
