Ever since the first generation of iPhone was released on mid-2007, we haven’t heard any retailer or carrier doing a significant price slash for the smartphone on Black Friday.
Fast forward with today’s events, it appears this history about to break after AT&T recently announced it’ll be cutting the price of iPhone 5S into half!
From this page, you can see America’s largest network carrier is offering the three-week old iPhone 5S (16GB) at $100 (with 2-year contract) while iPhone 5C (16GB) is sold at $50 (with 2-year contract).
Comparing this new pricing scheme with Target and Walmart’s Black Friday offer: $180 with $30 gift card and $190 with $75 gift card respectively, it’s even cheaper by a margin of $15 without even including the tax savings.
We aren’t entirely sure if this deal is exclusive to Ma ‘Bell only or other carriers in U.S will soon implement this pricing. But we’re certain it’s now happening today online and it’s the current best iPhone 5S deal in America as of the moment. Perhaps, this is one of Tim Cook’s strategy to boost iPhone sales getting hammered by the march of Android in the past two years.
