What better way to celebrate Christmas than having new electronic gadgets to play with? Millions of consumers in the US are expected to shop in the forthcoming Black Friday and Cyber Monday event while people residing in other countries have their own way to shop for great deals. OUYA is here to add its latest game console creation in white suit, a perfect complement to your White Christmas.
The Android-powered microconsole was previously introduced in black during its retail debut in June. The console garnered a huge fan base when it was posted in crowd-funding site Kickstarter early this year bagging over $8.5 million in total funds. Aside from getting a different paint job, the white OUYA console will have double internal storage space (now 16GB, up from 8GB) and different-colored home keys and button. The innards are basically similar with the black version including Tegra 3 quad-core processor, modified Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS, 1GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce ULP graphics, USB 2.0 input, micro USB for PC connection, HDMI for LCD display connection, WiFi, bluetooth 4.0 LE, ethernet and support for wireless controller.
Meanwhile, all OUYA consoles will receive software update this month dubbed “Ogopogo” that features external storage, ability to display video (for game trailers and footage) in game details page, download games without entering game details page, added “forgot password” option for users who can’t remember their passwords, improved performance in PLAY with lots of installed games and other bug fixes.
Interested consumers can pre-order the White edition OUYA console for $129.99 while the original version is at $99.99. Those who will pre-order the console before December 8th can have their console delivered on Christmas Day.
