The dual-SIM capable Samsung Galaxy Grand will be succeed by an equally large model called Galaxy Grand 2 with improved innards and features than the original version. The Grand 2 follows the Galaxy Note’s size but differs in hardware specs inside that properly categorizes it as a middleweight phone. There will be no stylus to talk about but the quad-core processor inside runs at 1.2Ghz. It has a base storage of 8GB and the microSD expansion can accommodate 64GB worth of data. As for the externals, a rear-facing camera functions at 8 megapixel.
The big display which measures 5.25-inch can deliver a 1280 x 720 resolution TFT while its on-board RAM conveniently stays at 1.5GB and the O.S. used is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It has a lot of sensors wile apps are generally Samsung-made. The phone’s dimension is 146.8 x 75.3 x 8.9 mm and weights 163g with power provided by a 2,600mAh battery. Seoul-based Samsung Electronics is offering the compact smartphone as a meaningful upgrade to its Galaxy Grand series with its improved performance and enhanced viewing feature.
It has a multi-window functionality that allows users to open two windows simultaneously for multitasking purposes or for running an application on those windows. The additional Smart Features include the Story Album, the Group Play, Samsung Hub, ChatON, Translator, S Travel, Health and Samsung Link. Sensors include a Compass, an Accelerometer, a Light, Proximity and a Hall Sensor. The Grand 2 unfortunately doesn’t have LTE but still mimics the Grand’s dual-SIM feature.
There’s no mention of price and availability for now but these could come in a matter of days.
