Asus Transformer Book Trio UK Price & Release, No Word For U.S.

We had a quick preview of Asus’ hybrid Transformer Book Trio back in Computex. Many spectators were mesmerized with its transformable feature from being an Android tablet to a fully functional Windows PC. Today, we’re getting up close and personal with the ultraportable gizmo with official wording about its price and release date.
To recall, the Asus Transformer Book Trio is a three-in-one device which means that it can be transformed into several different gadgets including a laptop, desktop PC and a tablet. The key feature comes with a detachable display that can function independently as an Android slate. The tablet has an 11.6-inch, 1080p IPS display, Android 4.2 OS, 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage, 5-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording, 720p front-facing camera, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth 3.0, micro USB port, micro SD expansion slot, audio jack and 19Whr battery unit. It measures 9.7mm thick and weighs 700 grams.
Meanwhile, the PC station packs Windows 8 OS, Intel Core i5 processor, Intel HD Graphics 4400, 4GB DDR3 RAM, 500GB HDD storage, 802.11ac dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 3.0 ports, Mini DisplayPort, micro HDMI 1.4 port, audio jack, mic, stereo speakers and 33Wh battery unit. It weighs 1kg.
UK residents will be the first to receive this hybrid device come November 11th but at a hefty price. The all-new Asus Transformer Book Trio is priced at £900 ($1,440) and will be available on several retail stores including Amazon, Ebuyer and John Lewis. It will certainly burn a little hole in your wallet but consumers who wish or can’t decide between an Android tablet and a Windows PC can get both on a single device. No word about its US release, unfortunately.
