I’m sure if you have been a keen follower for the Cisco Cius Tablet, you are somewhat disappointed how every bit of buzz about this device had gone cold. Anyway, it’s always good to know that things aren’t always down on the tech-world because as of today, there’s a new statement from the company revealing the Cius Tablet on Verizon LTE (4G).
Just before the end of the CES event for this year, Cisco’s CEO announced its Android powered Cius tablet will be supporting Verizon’s blazingly fast 4G LTE network on the Spring of 2011. And what this only means is, Cisco Cius 4Gusers would have the ability to achieve download speeds for up to 5-12 MBPs which is very hard to get on your conventional 3G network. So far, Verizon is the only carrier that will reveal the Cius tablet and there’s no revelation of what will be the price for its monthly data plans.
Just a refresher, the Cisco Cius tablet was first revealed on July of last year and it’s under a 7-inch form factor powered by Android (version still undisclosed) and it will be supporting 720p voice-chat conference using the company’s state of the art TelePresence solution, would support Bluetooth / USB and 10/100/1000 wired connectivity options, will have a sound dock plus some spectacular features like Cisco AnyConnect Security VPN client. Interestingly, Cisco claims its detachable battery would last up to eight-hours under intensive use.
