Valve’s Virtual Reality Device Through Steam After Two Years

Valve Corporation is planning to integrate the Virtual Reality (VR) concept on its Steam service and is hoping to present it in January 2014. Steam in involved in digital distribution and communications platform offering its users the ability to manage software across many computers and other features of non-gaming software. As to what that prototype could be is a guessing game for now.
Only developers are invited during the Developer Days conference in January and Valve is confident that the software will be featured on those days showing a Steam Overlay in Virtual Reality and other concepts highlighting the integration of VR into Steam and Steamworks. This could pose as a threat to next-gen consoles since VR is not yet a known feature among them. However, the VR-Steam integration idea is yet to be tested for reliability and durability inasmuch as virtual reality is a new and evolving technology.
The company is already making a series of announcements online about using VR on Steam services but has left us hanging on what exactly the prototype will look like even if it’s only a software. Attendees of the conference could shed light on the purported prototype come January and it’s not a bad idea to wait for details since it’s just a few days away. More details to see in here.
