Xbox One Can’t Play 3D Blu-ray Movies Unlike PS4, For Now

It’s a disappointing news from an Xbox One maker but hopefully a temporary one. The upcoming Xbox Onewill be not able to play 3D blu-ray video contents for now despite the fact that Microsoft had long adopted the concept which left everyone bewildered by the absence. But Microsoft is quick to say that it can be remedied by an update in the near future but as to when that might be, it’s just a guessing game for now.
However, the One supports both 3D and 4K playback as confirmed by the company’s Director of Xbox Programming. On the other hand, the rival console PlayStation 4 will be having the 3D Blu-ray thing but without the 4K output needed for some games. For this to become reality a 1.50 firmware update is necessary.  The absence or availability of the 3D Blu-ray feature is reckoned on launch date only without discounting the possibility that such feature will be made available through an update of the console.
Some current-gen consoles such as PlayStation 3 already supports the Blu-ray functionality in addition to 3D gamessupport which requires the use of 3D titles. Microsoft hasn’t offered an explanation but Blu-ray support is certainly out of the minds of most gamers for now especially when the next-gen consoles are to be launched in a matter of days.
