WD Black2 Dual Drive Combines SSD and Hard Drive In One Device

Western Digital is coming out with a two-drive storage device perfect for a laptop computing environment but also with PCs. The Black2 is a 2.5-inch hybrid drive that combines the storage features of both solid-state drive and hard disk rolled into one. The SATA enclosure houses a 120GB SSD and a spinning disk at 1TB allowing a faster speed and spacious capacity for a myriad of tasks ahead. Booting up an operating system will be faster with the wonders of an SSD along with the unique power efficiency system and a 20nm NAND flash.
Black2 utilizes Shift Technology that makes data management secure with a faster performance environment. It allocates 8GB for protecting the SSD and the drive’s architectural concept is do designed to reduce wear and tear due to prolonged use. This dual drive is a must for those who want speed and capacity especially users who process data continuously and in unlimited fashion.
All-in-one PCs will benefit from the hybrid drive when it comes to multi-tasking and simultaneously opening of programs. Laptops will no longer experience the usual lags associated with low storage capacity. The company will be offering the WD Black2 at a price of $300 which is roughly the same price for purchasing the two drives separately.
